Saudi Arabia is a country in Asia and the largest of the Arabian Peninsula. It borders with Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Yemen. It is washed by the Persian Gulf to the northeast and the Red Sea to the west. It has an area of 2,218,000 km ². 

The capital is Riyadh. This nation has a compound name: occupying much of the Arabian Peninsula bears the name of Arabia ("land of the Arabs", which in turn derives from the Semitic word ʿ arab,ie nomadic), while the term derives from the Dynasty najdiana of Al Arabia Sa ʿ ud, who founded the nation and led to economic and commercial peak. 

Riyadh is a bustling, modern city, crossed by wide boulevards and rights along whichoverlook ultramodern buildings, including the futuristic skyscrapers of the most unusual shapes, such as Kingdom Tower that stands out from afar for his height of 303 meters.Another landmark building is the tower of Riyadh Al Faisaliyah, a sail-shapedskyscraper topped with a large golden sphere that houses a restaurant and a shopping center.

The city is surrounded by the fascinating desert landscape of large expanses of sandand rock, the ideal place for excursions aboard a camel.

A Riyadh are still visible some remains of ancient walls, of the nine original gates thereare some that have been reconstructed, including the Gate of al-Thumayrī.

Interesting to visit is the Masmak fortress, dating from the late nineteenth century, which was recently restored and houses a museum dedicated to the unification and to IbnSaud of Saudi Arabia.

Worthy of note is the Museum of Riyadh, which houses a collection of archaeological finds and other objects dating from various eras, from the Stone Age to the rise of Islam.
